Shared Transactions System Setup

Overview

This article explains how to enable certain features through the initial system setup for shared transactions.

Step by Step Process:

Go to Netgain > Setup > System Setup

There are four main sections on the general settings tab:

  1. System Features
    1. Use Custom Transactions - Checking this field causes non-intercompany allocations to use a custom transaction. This will reduce the chance of errors from system generated entries as there are often other scripts, forms, and workflows deployed to the native 'Journal' transaction type that don't have the shared transaction functionality in mind.
    2. 1:1 Line Allocations - This enables 100% of the transaction to be allocated to the designated segment (primarily for intercompany transactions) directly on the transaction line of to that subsidiary (or department, class, etc).
  2. Transaction Configuration
    1. Deployed to Transactions - Use this multi-select field to set which transactions can be allocated using the shared transaction module.
  3. Default Intercompany Accounts
    1. Receivables Account -  Select the account that should be used to record intercompany receivables. If an account with " ELIMINATE INTERCOMPANY TRANSACTIONS" is checked, it will require intercompany vendors and customers to be used.
    2. Payables Account - Select the account that should be used to record intercompany payables. If an account with " ELIMINATE INTERCOMPANY TRANSACTIONS" is checked, it will require intercompany vendors and customers to be used.
  4. Sourcing - This is a list of Shared Transaction Sourcing records that have been created when the app was installed. There is a direct link to each of them and they can can be inactivated if they aren't needed (e.g. the native NetSuite "Class" segment is not used). See Shared Transaction Sourcing for more details.

The License/Usage tab will show the tier of the product in use and the features currently available in that tier. There will be an upgrade button available at the top of the page if not already on the premium tier to upgrade the account.
