NetAsset - Automation Rules
Use Case: NetAsset gives you the ability to automate certain processes with NetAsset Automation Rules. Some examples include automatically creating assets from a transaction and automatically marking assets to a "Ready to Capitalize" status.
STEP BY STEP PROCESS
- In the NetSuite Global Search, type in "NetAsset Automation Rule" and click on "Page: NetAsset Automation Rule".
- You will be directed to the NetAsset Automation Rule List page.
- Click on the "New NetAsset Automation Rule" button to create a new Automation Rule
- The NetAsset Automation Rule page will appear and you can start inputting information for the Automation Rule.
- In the Primary Information section, you can input specific information including the Name, Type, Subtype, and Saved Search.
- The saved search will determine when the automation rule should be run
- Please note, there are four different types of automation rules.
| Type | Description |
| Create Asset | Allows you to automatically create new asset. |
| Mark Ready to Capitalize | Allows you to automatically mark your assets to a "Ready to Capitalize" status. |
| Inventory Reclass | Allows you to perform an inventory reclass. |
| Trigger Custom Sourcing | Allows you to initiate custom sourcing. |
- Additionally, you can have it apply to certain transactions in the Deploy To Transactions field and select Inactive if you would like to have the Automation Rule be inactive.
- Under the Grouping Information section, you can group the created assets together by a specific field on a transaction. You will need to input the Internal ID of the field.
- After you have completed filling out the NetAsset Automation Rule page, click Save to save the Automation Rule.
- The Automation Rule will appear on the NetAsset Automation Rule List.
- Now when an item meets the saved search criteria, the automation rule will be applied
