NetLease 2026.2

Controls Added

  • Added a warning on the Setup page when changing the system Go-Live Date if go-live entries have already been posted. Users are advised to use the Override Go-Live Date on the lease instead and leave the system Go-Live Date set to the earliest known go-live.

  • Added a warning banner when one or more lease payments are dated prior to the commencement date, reminding users that only the last pre-commencement payment will be included (unless an Initial Lease Payment is present).

  • Added an error banner when the Secondary Accounting Book is assigned but the Secondary Classification field is blank, alerting users that no GL impact will occur in the secondary book.

Import Tools

  • Added a new Bulk Custom Role Permissions Import tool, available from the Import Permissions section of the NetLease System Setup page. The tool presents a single matrix of roles against every NetLease custom transaction, custom record, and custom page (suitelet), allowing permission levels to be assigned across many roles at once instead of editing each role individually.

  • Added new wizard for importing NetLease records from CSV or Excel files - linked on the Import Tools tab of the NetLease Setup page.

Lease Creation Updates

  • Added new record, NetLease Automation Rule, to help deploy common customizations to customer accounts (e.g. create lease from Purchase Order).
  • Added defaulting to always set subsidiary on the lease record to Parent in non-one-world accounts.
  • Updated lease liability calculation for GASB leases to use simple interest instead of compounding interest for leases with non-monthly payment frequencies (e.g. semiannual, quarterly).

Modification Updates

  • Added new "Propose Modification" global setting that, when enabled, adds a "Propose Modification" button to the lease record which opens a new NetLease Modification Proposal with the lease pre-populated.
  • Updated end date calculation on modifications to honor the previously set end date day of month rather than assuming the end date should be at the end of the month.
  • Updated the ROU Asset Useful Life field to be shown on the modification page if the "Allow ROU Asset Useful Life Override" global setting is enabled regardless of whether the lease has a populated ROU Asset Useful Life field.

Reporting Updates

  • Added the ability to create query-based reports.
  • Added new report type, Query Waterfall, which facilitates the creation of waterfall type reports based on queries as the underlying data source.
  • Reconfigured buttons on the scripted reports to more accurately describe whether the report would be previewed in the browser ('Preview' button), scheduled to run at a later date ('Schedule' button), or exported as a spreadsheet ('Export' button), and moved expand/collapse buttons into the report header.
  • Added the ability to schedule certain scripted reports (e.g. roll forward, waterfall) on a particular day of the month for a specific reporting range and have that report emailed to a set of recipients, including support for multiple scheduled reports from a single report record.
  • Added new "Email User" global setting to specify the active employee NetLease uses to send scheduled report emails. If not configured, NetLease will attempt to send emails using the earliest active 'Administrator' type employee it can find.
  • Added new 'Use Accounting Period Date' checkbox in NetLease report filters to allow the From and To date filters to use period dates (posting dates) instead of raw transaction dates, ensuring consistency in reports like the Roll Forward when clients need to filter by specific date ranges while maintaining GL period accuracy.
  • Updated scripted subledger and GL roll forward reports not to roll go-live impacts into the beginning balance if the go-live transaction date is not in the 1st month of the reporting range.

Transaction Processing Updates

  • Updated journal processing to move the transaction date to the earliest open period date if the journal fails to post on the current date.
  • Updated the Selected Period selection in the Posting Period preferences to always post to the selected period, rather than only when the date range was locked.
  • Updated the default locked period posting preference from "Selected Period" to "First Open Period", and updated field help text descriptions for locked period posting options.

Termination Updates

  • Added a new 'Allow Mid-Month Terminations' setting to the Termination Settings section of the NetLease System Setup page. When enabled, a lease can be terminated as of any day within the current period rather than only at a period boundary: the period containing the termination date is split into a partial period ending the day before the termination date, with the payment, expense, interest, and amortization amounts prorated by the number of days elapsed in the month, and a partial-month amortization journal entry is posted for the retained portion. Mid-month terminations are available for monthly leases with a monthly payment frequency that do not use custom calendars.

Transfer / Intercompany Updates

  • Added a warning to intercompany transfers when an Accounts Receivable or Accounts Payable account with elimination enabled is used on a book-specific journal for a multi-book accounting book.
  • Added new 'Elimination Subsidiary' field to the lease (visible if Elimination Subsidiary global setting is enabled) that will create reversing intercompany entries in the Elimination Subsidiary listed on the Lease.

Misc.

  • Added new Release Notes page embedded in the product (NetLease > NetLease Help > Release Notes), which displays all NetLease release notes in one searchable view, indicates the version currently installed in your account, and includes a "Pull Future Release Notes" button to preview upcoming releases published by Netgain.
  • Deprecated the "Send Release Notes to" subtab on the Manage Upgrades tab in NetLease Setup in favor of in-app messaging.
  • Various bug fixes (see minor release notes).
  • Fully tested for the NetSuite 2026.2 release.
