NetClose - Getting Started

Overview

NetClose is Netgain's NetSuite-native close management SuiteApp. It brings the moving parts of the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close into NetSuite itself - no separate system to log into, no data syncing back and forth. The close runs where your financial data already lives.

NetClose is built from six modules that map to the work a close team actually does:

  • Tasks - a shared checklist for every close activity, with owners, due dates, dependencies, and review chains, so the whole team sees what's done and what's outstanding.
  • Reconciliations - GL account reconciliations with balance explanations, supporting documentation, and preparer/reviewer sign-off.
  • Flux Analysis - period-over-period and budget-to-actual variance analysis, with thresholds that flag material movements and require explanations - AI can draft the commentary.
  • Amortizations - schedules for prepaid and deferred balances, with period-end journals, modifications, and transfers handled inside NetSuite.
  • Accruals - accrual creation and the matching of estimates to actual vendor bills, including auto-reversal and accretion.
  • Close Control - period locking that protects finished work, both at the transaction level (by subsidiary, transaction type, segment, and more) and by freezing completed NetClose modules.

How to use the course

We built the course to pair with your implementation and supplement the discussions along the way. Use it however fits your team:

  • Ahead of your implementation - watch and review before or between calls. The course isn't meant to replace your implementation sessions; it makes them more productive by getting everyone to the same baseline.
  • For onboarding new team members - as people join your organization, these videos help them get up to speed quickly.
  • As a refresher - there's a lot to NetClose, and the videos are a fast way to re-learn how a specific module is set up and operates.
