NetLease Managed Bundles FAQs

Question: How do bundle updates work in NetLease? Who is receiving managed upgrades? How often?

SuiteApp products (NetClose and Shared Transactions) will continue to receive managed upgrades whenever a new version is available, as they have since inception.

Bundle products (NetLease, NetAsset, NetLessor, and NetLoan) have bulk managed upgrades settings available to determine how often your bundle will be updated. These can be seen in each of the products under NetLease > NetLease Setup > System Setup > Manage Upgrades.

The following options are available:

  • Accept All Updates
    • including minor bug fixes
  • Bi-Annual Updates - Leading
  • Bi-Annual Updates - Trailing
    • 4 weeks after initial release
    • This will be the default option on install
  • Annual Update Spring - Leading
  • Annual Update Spring - Trailing
    • 4 weeks after initial release
  • Annual Update Fall - Leading
  • Annual Update Fall - Trailing
    • 4 weeks after initial release
  • Custom - Trailing
    • Specific date of next update is specified, but can be no later than 1 year after the last update

Bundle updates will be required no less than once per year thereafter.

Question: Will I receive a notification prior to receiving a managed upgrade?

NetSuite account administrators always receive notifications when a managed upgrade is pushed to their system, however, there are no release notes on this notification.

Netgain will send release notes to the contacts that we have in NetSuite twice a year on the .1 and .2 updates.  These contacts can be set in the Manage Upgrades section of the System Setup for each product. We will additionally store release notes for minor releases within the knowledge base.

Question: If I would like to update my bundle off cycle, how do I get the latest update in a production environment?

You may run into this alert when you try to update a managed bundle in a production environment:

This is because managed upgrades cannot be pulled down. They must be manually pushed from Netgain's release environment. To request an update, contact support@netgain.tech.

Question: If I would like to update my bundle off cycle, how do I get the latest update in a sandbox environment?

Managed upgrades cannot be pushed out to sandboxes. They must be pulled using the following steps:

  • Navigate to Customization > SuiteBundler > Search & Install Bundles > List
  • Review or hover over the bundle version to see the latest release available (also indicated with the blue exclamation point icon indicating “Update Available”)

  • Hover over the green far left icon and select “Update
  • Select “Update Bundle” on the Preview Bundle Update Screen - preferences will be automatically set.
