NetCash Renaming Bank Accounts
Overview
Each NetCash Bank Account record has a Name, and that name is the label shown in the bank account dropdown on every NetCash page. Oftentimes, teams want to rename accounts to match an internal naming convention. A common example is leading with the last four digits of the bank account number, followed by the account name (for example, 1234 - Operating Checking), which makes the right account easy to pick when several are listed.
You can rename bank accounts manually or via CSV. Both methods are described below.
Rename bank accounts manually
- In the NetSuite Global Search bar, type NetCash Bank Account and select Page: NetCash Bank Account.
If the page doesn't show, then it's likely a permissions issue. You must have at least Edit access to NetCash Bank Account record in order to rename bank accounts.
2. On the top row of the list, toggle Edit on to enable inline editing.
3. Click the Name of the account you want to change and type the preferred name.
4. Click anywhere outside the field to save the change.
5. Repeat steps 3 and 4 for any other accounts you need to rename.
6. Toggle Edit off to exit inline editing.
Where the new name appears
The updated name is the label shown in the bank account dropdown across NetCash pages. Reload any open NetCash page to see the new name in its dropdown.
Rename bank accounts via CSV upload
- Navigate to the bank account list via the instructions in step 1 above.
- Download the list as a CSV file.
- Open the CSV file and rename bank accounts as desired. Save the CSV file in a known location.
- Navigate to the Import Assistant by accessing Setup > Import/Export > Import CSV Records.
- With the Import Assistant open, update the Import Type to Custom Records and the Record Type to NetCash Bank Account.
- Then, select your .csv file.
- On Import Options, make sure Update is selected and "Run Server SuiteScript and Trigger Workflows" is checked.
- On Field Mapping, NetSuite should auto-map fields.
- Then, run the import.
- To view the status of the upload, select "Import Job Status" in the Confirmation banner or navigate to Setup > Import/Export > View CSV Import Status.
- When complete, the status will change to complete and show the records imported successfully.
- In the event of a failed upload, review the logs for the specific reasons, make necessary updates, and repeat the above steps.
