Cross-Validation Rules - Updating Your SuiteApp
Overview
Netgain regularly improves Cross-Validation Rules with new features, enhancements, and fixes. How you receive those updates depends on the environment:
- Sandbox - you can upgrade Cross-Validation Rules yourself, at any time. Netgain does not push updates to sandbox accounts, so taking the latest version is always something you initiate. This is the best place to try a new version before it reaches production.
- Production - to update your production environment, contact Netgain support and they'll handle the upgrade for you.
Cross-Validation Rules ships inside the Shared Transactions SuiteApp
Cross-Validation Rules is delivered within the Shared Transactions by Netgain SuiteApp - there is no separate Cross-Validation Rules tile in the marketplace. To update Cross-Validation Rules, you upgrade the Shared Transactions SuiteApp, as described below.
Test in sandbox first
Because you control when your sandbox updates, it's the ideal place to review a new version against your own configuration and data before it's applied in production.
Upgrade Your SuiteApp in a Sandbox Environment
- In your sandbox account, go to SuiteApps (the SuiteApps tab in the NetSuite menu bar).
- Search for Shared Transactions.
- Select Shared Transactions by Netgain from the results.
- Click Upgrade.
The upgrade can take several minutes to complete. When it's finished, the Installed Version and the Latest Version shown will match - that confirms you're on the current release.
Request a SuiteApp Update for Your Production Environment
Production updates are handled by Netgain support. To request one, email Netgain support at support@netgain.tech with your account ID (typically 7 digits, found at the beginning of your URL when logged into NetSuite). Support will apply the upgrade for you.
Will an Update Affect My NetSuite Account?
No. Updating the Shared Transactions SuiteApp should not affect the performance or speed of your NetSuite account. The update installs in the background, doesn't interrupt other users, and leaves your existing data and configuration in place.
