NetLoan Custom Calendar Configuration
NetLoan enables users to set up custom calendars. You can also sync this to match your NetSuite accounting periods with a click of a button. These custom calendars can then be selected on the type level or the loan level so they apply as a default selection.
STEP-BY-STEP PROCESS
Option 1: Automatic Sync
- Navigate to NetLoan > NetLoan Setup > Manage Custom Calendars > New
- The first option and easiest way to configure your custom loan calendars is to use the Sync To Accounting Periods button and have the system automatically pull your NetSuite accounting periods into NetLoan. Once you click the button the system will take a moment to import you NetSuite accounting periods into this page.
- Once the system has finished processing, you will see your NetSuite accounting periods copied individually into a row on the NetLoan Custom Calendar page as shown below.
Note: You will need to have your NetSuite accounting periods set up far into the future. This is because the system will need accounting periods that span the entirety of the loan term to generate the schedule correctly. - Review, input a name for the custom calendar, and click Save.
Option 2: Manual Entry
- If you would like to set up custom calendars within NetLoan that do not match your accounting periods in NetSuite you can enter these manually.
- To do so, navigate to NetLoan > NetLoan Setup > Manage Custom Calendars > New
- Enter a name, start date, and end date for each accounting period. Once you are finished, you should see a separate row for each accounting period with the given information.
Note: You will need to create an accounting period from the first commencement date until at least the last end date. This is because the system will need accounting periods that span the entirety of the loan term to generate the schedule correctly. - Review, input a name for the custom calendar, and click Save.
Option 3: CSV Upload
- If you would like to set up custom calendars within NetLoan that do not match your accounting periods in NetSuite you can input them via CSV upload using this template:

- Fill out both tabs in the file and upload via the normal CSV upload process:
- To upload the Custom Calendar file, navigate to Setup > Import/Export > Import CSV Records. Designate the Import Type as Custom Record and NetLoan Custom Calendar as the Record Type:
- On the Import Options page, select Add and check the box to Run Server SuiteScript and Trigger Workflows:
- Make sure the fields are mapped properly:
- Click Next, then select Run.
- Follow the same steps to upload the Custom Calendar Periods, indicating Custom Calendar Periods as the Record Type when uploading the CSV file.
How to Apply Custom Calendars to Loans
- To apply a custom calendar to your loans, you will need to navigate to NetLoan > NetLoan Setup > Manage Loan Types. Once there, you will edit the loan types you would like to apply the custom calendar. Then, select the calendar you created in the Default Custom Accounting Calendar field.
- Save the loan type.
- Alternatively, custom calendars can be added directly to a loan record. To do so, the loan record will need to be in the "Pending" status. Navigate to the loan record you wish to edit and select the calendar you created in the Custom Accounting Calendar field on the Accounting Subtab.
Note: The custom calendar selected on the loan level will override the custom calendar selected on the type level. - Save the loan.
