Analytics - Setting Up a Capacity for PowerBI Embed

Summary

To set up PowerBI Embed for integration with NetSuite, the following are required:

1. A dedicated Pro or Premium user in PowerBI.
2. Setting up a Capacity in Microsoft Azure.

This document outlines the steps to configure a Capacity in Microsoft Azure for PowerBI Embed integration.

Definitions

• Resource: A manageable item available through Azure, such as services or cloud-based solutions. Most services in Microsoft Azure are categorized and managed as "resources."

• Resource Group: A container that organizes related resources within an Azure solution. Resource groups help manage resources under a subscription for billing and organizational purposes. You can determine which resources belong in a resource group based on your organization’s needs.

Creating a Resource Group

Before proceeding, ensure a Resource Group is set up in Microsoft Azure. To check or create a Resource Group:

1. Navigate to the Microsoft Azure home page.
2. Click on the Resource Groups icon.

If a resource group already exists, you may skip this section.

Note:

If you do not have a resource group, you will be prompted with a screen to begin setting up Azure. Click the Start button to initiate an Azure free trial, and follow the prompts to sign up. View full size

After completing the sign-up, you will be directed to the Resource Groups screen.

Steps to Create a New Resource Group:

1. On the Resource Groups page, click Create. View full size
2. You will be prompted to enter a Resource Group Name andselect an existing Microsoft Azure subscription.
   • The name of the resource group can be customized as per your preference. View full size
3. Complete the remaining steps and click Review + create.
   • Tags are optional and can be skipped. View full size

Creating a Capacity for PowerBI Embed

After the Resource Group is created, follow the steps below to add a new resource for PowerBI Embed:

1. From the Azure home page, click Create a resource. View full size
2. On the Create a resource page, search for and select PowerBI Embedded. View full size View full size
3. In the marketplace entry, click Create. View full size
