NetLoan - Customize the sublist search on processing pages

Overview

NetLoan processing pages (suitelets) such as Process Monthly Amortization Journals, Process Bills, Generate Schedules, and Commence Loans list their loans from a saved search. Each page uses a default Netgain saved search, which is installed with the NetLoan bundle. That search is set in the Sublist Search parameter on the suitelet's script deployment.

This article explains how to find the search a suitelet uses, and how to point the suitelet to your own custom copy. For example, you might add a column or limit which loans appear for processing.

To control who can open a suitelet, see NetLoan - Suitelet Access. To add filter fields to a page without changing its search, see NetLoan - Manage Custom Filters.

Prerequisites

  • Access to NetLoan > NetLoan Setup > System Setup.
  • Permission to edit script deployments.
  • Permission to create saved searches.

Step-by-step process

Find the current sublist search

  1. Navigate to NetLoan > NetLoan Setup > System Setup.
  2. Select the System Features tab to view the Restrict Feature Permissions sublist.
  3. Click the script deployment link for the suitelet. The script deployment record opens.
  4. Select the Parameters subtab. The Sublist Search field shows the saved search the suitelet uses.

Set a custom sublist search

  1. Open the saved search shown in Sublist Search and click Edit this Search.
  2. Click Save As. The default search is locked, so Save As is the only button available. It creates an editable copy and leaves the default search unchanged.
  3. On the new copy, enter a unique Search Title, such as the default search name followed by your company name.
  4. Optionally, enter a meaningful ID so the search is easy to find later. NetSuite adds the customsearch prefix. This step is not required. If you leave it blank, NetSuite assigns an ID.
  5. Make your changes:
    • On the Criteria subtab, add filters to limit the loans returned.
    • On the Results subtab, add or remove columns.
  6. Click Save.
  7. Go back to the suitelet's script deployment and click Edit.
  8. On the Parameters subtab, select the custom search in Sublist Search.
  9. Click Save.
  10. Open the suitelet and confirm the expected loans and columns appear.

Revert to the default search

  1. Edit the suitelet's script deployment.
  2. On the Parameters subtab, select the default search in Sublist Search.
  3. Click Save.
