Shared Transactions Roles & Permissions
Overview:
The utilization of roles across organizations using NetSuite can vary significantly. Shared Transactions is built to allow customization and alignment to a user’s existing strategy for roles, permissions, and corresponding segregation of duties. So, when downloading Shared Transactions, the permissions of individual roles might have to be updated to accommodate for the new Shared Transaction features.
Step-by-Step Process:
- Navigate to Manage Roles by accessing Setup > Users/Roles > Manage Roles
- Click into the Role you are wanting to update
- The Role details are brought up as noted below
- On the Permissions subtab is where you will be updating the Transactions and Custom Records to add the desired permissions for the identified role
- On the Transactions subtab, add/update the following line:
- Shared Transaction Journal
- Enabling this allows a user to apply templates and allocations to different transactions
- Enabling this allows a user to apply templates and allocations to different transactions
- Shared Transaction Journal
- On the Custom Record subtab, add/update the following lines:
- Shared Transaction Allocation
- This determines if a user can add and/or change the allocations within a template
- Shared Transaction Sourcing
- This determines if a user can change / view the sourcing settings
- Shared Transaction Template
- This determines if a user can view and/or make changes to templates
- Netgain Tools Setup
- This determines if a user is able to view the system settings and/or make changes to it
- Shared Transaction Allocation
- Once the role has been updated, make sure to save your changes
