NetCash Automation Rules - CSV Import

Overview

This article walks through importing NetCash Automation Rules via the NetSuite CSV Import tool. This workflow is intended only for scenarios involving more than 20 rules, as it requires up to six separate uploads and specific import requirements. If you have fewer than 20 rules, we recommend manually adding rules. This approach is best suited for experienced users who are comfortable with the NetSuite CSV Import process and have experience troubleshooting import errors.

Prerequisites

Bank accounts must exist and automation rule groups must be created.

Step by Step Process

Start by populating all applicable information in the NetCash Automation Rules Import Template. Each sheet in the workbook pertains to a separate import, so each sheet should be saved as a separate CSV file. The steps below walk through how to perform each upload.

Upload Automation Rules

  1. Navigate to Setup > Import/Export > Import CSV Records
  2. For Import Type, select Custom Records, and for Record Type, select NetCash Automation Rule
  3. Follow the prompts to finish the import

Upload Automation Rule Filters

  1. Navigate to Setup > Import/Export > Import CSV Records
  2. For Import Type, select Custom Records, and for Record Type, select NetCash Automation Rule Filter
  3. Follow the prompts to finish the import

Upload Matching Criteria

  1. Navigate to Setup > Import/Export > Import CSV Records
  2. For Import Type, select Custom Records, and for Record Type, select NetCash Matching Criteria
  3. Follow the prompts to finish the import

Upload Automation Rule Grouping

  1. Navigate to Setup > Import/Export > Import CSV Records
  2. For Import Type, select Custom Records, and for Record Type, select NetCash Automation Rule Grouping
  3. Follow the prompts to finish the import

Upload Transaction Templates

Each automation rule contains a transaction template with default field selections. If you are overriding any of these fields with your own selections, then you will need to:

  • Upload Transaction Template records
  • Upload Transaction Template Line records (covered in the last step below)

If your rules do not have transaction templates assigned yet, you will need to upload them.

  1. Navigate to Setup > Import/Export > Import CSV Records
  2. For Import Type, select Custom Records, and for Record Type, select NetCash Transaction Template
  3. Follow the prompts to finish the import

Link Transaction Template to Automation Rule

If you uploaded transaction templates in the previous step, you will need to link your transaction templates to the appropriate rules via an Update import for NetCash Automation Rule. The only fields needed in the file are Name of the Rule and Transaction Template.

  1. Navigate to Setup > Import/Export > Import CSV Records
  2. For Import Type, select Custom Records, and for Record Type, select NetCash Automation Rule
  3. On Import Options, select Update instead of Add
  4. Follow the prompts to finish the import

Upload Transaction Template Lines

  1. Navigate to Setup > Import/Export > Import CSV Records
  2. For Import Type, select Custom Records, and for Record Type, select NetCash Transaction Template Line
  3. Follow the prompts to finish the import

Validate Automation Rules

Once automation rules have been uploaded, they should be validated via the following steps:

  • Navigate to NetCash > Setup > Automation Rules to view your rules and the associated criteria
  • If you have marked any rules as "Require Confirmation", then you can confirm matches on the Confirm Rule Matches page.
  • You can execute automation rules individually on the corresponding rule record, or you can kick off the following scripts to run all of them at once. These scripts are scheduled to run nightly if your bank is connected via API. If you upload transactions manually, you can opt for rules to run after your upload.
    • NetCash | Bank - Automate - Create | MR
    • NetCash | Bank - Automate - Match | MR
    • NetCash | Bank - Automate - Trans | MR
