NetLoan — Resolve a Duplicate Schedule Line Error

Overview

This article explains how to identify and resolve the "Duplicate Schedule Line Detected" error in NetLoan. This error appears when a loan has more than one schedule line for the same processing period and the Check For Duplicate Schedule Lines setting is enabled — the system halts journal creation for the affected loan rather than posting potentially incorrect entries. Resolving the error requires regenerating the loan's schedule via Update Loan Schedules, after which journals can process normally.

1. Navigate to NetLoan > Mass Update Loans > Update Loan Schedules.

2. Locate the affected loan(s). To find loans with this error, search for records where the Script Execution Log field contains: "Duplicate Schedule Line Detected. Please run Update Schedules on the Loan and try again."

3. Select the affected loan(s).

4. Click Generate.

5. Once generation completes, return to the loan record and confirm the processing status is no longer Error and the duplicate schedule lines have been resolved.

6. Re-run journals for the loan if needed.

Considerations

  • Until the error is resolved, the system will skip journal creation for the affected loan on every Run Journals job. No journal entries will post until the duplicate lines are cleared.
  • Netgain recommends setting up a saved search that filters loans where the Script Execution Log field contains "Duplicate Schedule Line Detected" — this allows teams to proactively identify affected loans, particularly when automated journal scripts run overnight.
