NetClose - Task Custom Field Sourcing
Overview
Users can add custom fields to the NetClose Task Record to provide additional context or to tailor task organization based on specific needs. Custom sourcing enables these additional fields to be used as filters on the Task List and Task Board pages.
The following walkthrough and step-by-step guide detail the process of adding new fields and configuring custom sourcing.

Prerequisites
- Custom field(s) must be added to the NetClose Task record. For detailed instructions on this process, refer to the NetClose Add Custom Fields article.
Please note that custom sourcing can only be configured to add filters for fields of the list/record type. It will not work for other field types, such as free-form text, integer, etc.
Step by Step Process
- Navigate to NetClose > Setup > Sourcing > New.
- On the next screen, select NetClose Task as the Sourcing Type:
- Once the screen loads, assign a name to the sourcing record and select the relevant Sourced Field. The Sourced Field dropdown will display the custom fields added to the NetClose Task record.
- Next, select the correct Sourced Record Type. Ensure you choose the same source for this record type that was selected for the list/record source when the new field was created. This ensures that the filter list options align with those in the newly created fieldโs list:
- Once all fields are populated, click Save to save the sourcing record.
- To see if the filter is properly displaying, navigate to NetClose > Tasks > Task List.
- A new filter for the custom field should now be available, enabling tasks to be filtered accordingly:
If a filter is not visible, click the preferences icon in the top right corner to check if it has been deactivated in the filter preferences.
